The Trade Promotion Department of Brazil’s Ministry of External Relations, in coordination with the Presidential Staff (Casa Civil), Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management, and the Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is organizing a roadshow that will be visiting Lisbon (November 3), London (November 4), Madrid (November 6) and Frankfurt (November 10), to publicize priority projects under the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC).
The aim is to draw attention of European institutional investors to selected projects under the PAC. In view of the upgrading of Brazil’s risk rating to investment grade and the positive repercussions this development has had in the world financial markets, the workshops are to be held in selected European cities, with a view to attracting investment in the areas of infrastructure and logistics.
Aside from drawing direct investment to Brazil, these events will also contribute toward promoting a better understanding of the Brazilian economy and of sectoral regulatory frameworks.
The workshops will have the following format:
(a) a brief presentation on Brazil’s macroeconomic fundamentals;
(b) a short general presentation on the PAC;
(c) sector-specific presentations, including a portfolio of projects, regulatory frameworks (legal security for investments) and success stories (if possible, brief recent accounts of European companies or financial groups that have participated in Brazilian infrastructure projects);
(d) working luncheon; and
(e) bilateral meetings
