Português The Trade Promotion Department of Brazil’s Ministry of External Relations (DPR) will organize a seminar on investment opportunities in Brazil, to take place in October (19-22nd) in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. The content of the Seminar will be similar to PAC promotion events organized by DPR in the USA (New York, Atlanta and San Francisco), and in Europe (Lisbon, London, Madrid, Frankfurt and Moscow) and will have the following format: (a) a brief presentation on Brazil’s macroeconomics foundations and an overall summarized presentation on PAC; and (b) sector-specific presentations, including project portfolios, regulatory framework (legal security for investments). Specific presentations will last 20 minutes each and will focus on projects in areas of interest to Canada as previously demonstrated, for example, mining and energy (oil and gas; hydropower and thermoelectric plants; and transmission lines). After the "workshops", bilateral one-on-one meetings will be arranged in order to give Canadian businessmen an opportunity to have a private contact with Brazilian Government representatives. The program for the Seminar is as follows: - Welcoming words by Brazilian Consuls in Vancouver and in Montreal, and by a Canadian authority (to be confirmed) Presentation: “The Oil and Gas Industry in Brazil (The Role of the Regulator)” (20 minutes) Speaker: Brazilian Oil, Natural Gas, and Biofuels Agency (ANP) Presentation: “Petrobras and PAC initiative: an opportunity for foreign investments in Brazil.” (20 minutes) Speaker: Petrobras Presentation: “Generation and Transmission of Electric Power Auctions” (20 minutes) Speaker: Ministry of Mines and Energy Apart from helping to attract direct investments in the country, the events will contribute to promote a better understanding of Brazilian Economy and its regulatory framework.
